If I Were Queen

If I Were Queen

If I were queen
Then you and I'd be neighbors
We'd collect things
And we could argue where to put them

Collecting vintage feels a little bit like being in the mob - every time I swear off buying for a little while, something really beautiful comes along and I'm pulled right back in. And this 1930s blouse is beautiful - sheer, with rose embroidery and stunning full sleeves. There was just no way in hell I was leaving it behind, especially after my go-to guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I would have liked to have found a slightly more pastoral setting to shoot this outfit in, what with the straw hat and all, but spring has been quite slow in coming, and I couldn't resist getting some photos of this blouse as soon as I could. I've been wanting to shoot at the historic Wrigley Building for some time, though, so I figured I would get up early and see what I could get. Thankfully, I think it pretty much worked out!

In case you were curious where those lyrics at the top of the page came from, I've been revisiting some artists that I haven't listened to in a while, and I've become obsessed all over again with this lovely tune from My Brightest Diamond. It seemed like a good fit for a romantic, slightly wistful-feeling set of photos.
