It's been unseasonably warm here in Chicago recently. Like, by November we're usually getting into coat territory in Chicago. This year, I'm sweating through my light jackets coming into work in the morning. I'm not going to pretend it isn't nice, because it is, but it's also a little unsettling. I mean, yes, weather and climate are different things, but there's something about wearing shorts in November that helps reinforce that GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL, Y'ALL.

I mention this at least in part because America is not good on this particular subject. A lot of politicians are like, "I'm not a scientist, but last year it snowed. Therefore henceforth, global warming is a lie!" Literally, there was a senator who brought a snowball into a session of congress as proof that global warming didn't exist. I'd think that if you're not a scientist, you'd be better off believing scientists when they tell you something than deciding that you don't believe because you don't understand it, but what do I know, I'm not a scientist.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to turn this into some kind of rant. All I was trying to say was that it's been really nice and sunny out lately, which is lovely. Moving on.

This might be one of the more traditionally ladylike looks that I've worn in a while. Sometimes it's nice to mess things up a bit and take then in an unexpected direction, but that doesn't mean I don't have a lot of love for classic styling. I just pulled this mustard dress out of storage for the fall, and the pageboy hairstyle, red lips, and t-strap pumps felt really fresh and pretty with it.

I'm just going to say it, though - I'm not feeling these sunglasses. I bought them for Brian originally, and he didn't care for them. They were only $6 or $7, but I still didn't want to waste the money, but they just don't look right on me. Something about the roundness of the lenses with the straight top just says unibrow to me. I'm considering a few different pairs, like these chunky cat eyesor this set of round frames that reminds me just a little bit of 20s or 30s styles. I break or lose sunglasses too often to be spending a ton of money on them, but I still want to look cool.

But hey, it's Friday! I'm off to binge on some post-Halloween candy and worry about the melting polar ice caps. Life in the fast lane.
