Torta Cubano
I've been waiting months to show off this top. I bought it all the way back in... I don't know, February, maybe March? I love delicate straps at the neckline, the drapey, romantic, off-the-shoulder silhouette, the fact that it's pretty much a direct knock off of a much, much more expensive Proenza Schouler top. (I mean, I know I shouldn't really buy knockoffs, but I am in no way the market for the original, and this one is so pretty!)
It doesn't exactly work with a jacket, though, so I held off on wearing it, and then held off some more when the weather refused to stay nice for more than a day or two at a time. But I think its time has finally come, and I feel like I found basically the perfect way to wear it.
There's something kind of fun and cha cha inspired about the high waist pants and the ruffled top. It made me think of a trip to the tropics and salsa dancing, which is totally unrelated to the industrial space where we ended up shooting, but I can be flexible. It was actually quite fun getting these shots, although I was certain I was going to get rust or paint flecks all over my nice, white blouse.
I feel compelled to mention that while it might look like there's some kind of soft focus filter on a few of these photos, either Brian or I just managed to get a nice smear of sunscreen on one of my lenses. Anyone know how I should clean it?
