Horrockstar

As someone who spends a slightly ridiculous amount of time trolling Asos, I tend to notice when they start to carry a new brand. My eyes practically bugged out of my head when I saw dresses from a brand called Horrockses - gorgeously printed and perfectly vintage in style, I was in love from the word go.

Some of you may already know that Horrockses was an iconic vintage brand from the 40s and 50s. I mean, I didn't know that (my knowledge of vintage brands is woefully lacking, I'm afraid), but you might have. Their dresses, then as now, featured beautiful prints and were very well made. They were quite expensive by the standard of the times - £5-7, or about £200 in today's money - and were worn by wide array of well dressed ladies, up to and including the royal family. Today, they're considered highly collectible.

A few years ago the brand was revived with a line of bed sheets, and more recently they've brought back the clothing line as well. From what I can find, it seems to be carried exclusively by Asos at the moment, although I'm hoping that if they're successful, the brand will become more widely available.

While they're a bit out of my price range, I might have to make like a woman on the 40s or 50s and start saving my pennies.

What do you guys think of the line? And, more generally, what do you think of the revival of heritage labels like Horrockses?
