Follow the Wind
It’s Memorial Day here in the US, and it’s been a busy one for me, at least by my standards - drinks on Friday night, dinner and a movie on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. There were a couple of other things that I was supposed to do this weekend, but it’s tough for me to balance hanging out with friends and actually doing the things that I’m supposed to do, like cleaning and laundry and grocery shopping (or photography).
I almost didn’t make it out to take these photos, but I’m really glad that I finally managed to drag my ass out of bed at a reasonable time this morning. The weather was gorgeous - sunny, but breezy and not too hot, and perfect for walking around taking pictures.
One of the things that I’m happiest about is getting a chance to show off this skirt. I’ve added a lot of brown to my wardrobe in the past couple of years, and picking up this piece was definitely a continuation of the trend. I’m not totally sure if the print is of fans or flowers, but it hardly matters when the colors are this soft and lovely. Pink, chartreuse, black, and cream - as soon as I saw it, I knew it would pair perfectly with this green top.
The top is one that I’ve had for a while, and I’ve worn it once before here on the blog. It’s a pretty fabulous piece in it’s own right: how great is the cutout detailing on the neckline? Admittedly, I do need a hand getting it on (damn you, side zippers! This might be the one time I’ve wished for back buttons on a blouse), but it’s worth it for the perfect fit.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend, and if you’re in the US, happy Memorial Day!
