Alternate History
I sure got a lot of mileage out of finding a couple of dried stalks of grass…
This outfit feels slightly out of character for me, just because I don’t typically show quite this much skin, or at least not in photos. In real life I spend quite a bit of time running around in shorts and tank tops, but here, not so much. That’s not any kind of a value judgement, by the way - I really admire people who are unabashedly sexy, but it always feels a bit weird when I do it myself. I’m kind of feeling it lately, though! Also, I just got a new tattoo on my thigh that I’m excited to show off, so it’s inspiring me to get out of my comfort zone a little bit.
I actually bought this dress for biking (most of my other dresses/skirts are too long, and I don’t always want to wear shorts/pants), but I was playing around the other day and realized that I love it with this hat. The combination gives me weird Victorian meets 60s vibes that I’m pretty into, so I decided to run with it. Graceland Cemetery, where I did another recent shoot, has a gorgeous arboretum with a number of indigenous plant species, and when I realized the other day how lush and beautiful and colorful it was, I knew that I had to take photos there.
I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe!
