Maverick

I'm not really much of a jeans person. I feel like it's a struggle for anyone to find pants that fit properly, and given both my shape and my pickiness when it comes to how things fit me, I tend to try things on, laugh, and then shop for more dresses and skirts.

Well, color me shocked - I found a pair of jeans that actually fit. And not just in a "here's what's wrong but I'll accept it because I need something that fills this niche in my wardrobe" kind of way, but in a real "no, these actually _fit_" kind of way. I mean, I could maybe hem them half an inch, but that's honestly it. It feels like a Christmas in July miracle!

I'm not sure exactly when these date from - maybe 70s? They're not a bell bottom, but more of a wide straight leg, and made of a lightweight denim that's comfortable for summer. The brand is Maverick jeans, which a little Googling told me were owned by the same company that made Wranglers.

I wasn't really looking for jeans, but I've got a couple of tops that just don't work with much of anything in my wardrobe. My favorite store, Knee Deep, was having a sale recently, and when I spied these on the rack I figured I might as well give them a shot. Given how much I like them, I might have to go back to see if they have any more pairs.

This actually wasn't the outfit that I intended to photograph the day I took these, but Brian and I had planned to visit his folks in Indiana, and he wanted to head out a little earlier than I'd anticipated. I grabbed my camera on the way out the door, and, as it turned out, blue jeans, boots, and a t-shirt are a good fit with a country porch and some long grass. Quelle surprise, I know.
