Summer's End
Happy Labor Day, everyone!
Brian and I went out to his parents' house for a fun celebration. His brother organized a little party for their friends, so we had several fun activities, including croquet - which, as it turns out, I'm terrible at.
It's quite nice to get out to the country once in a while, not least because it always leads to some lovely photos. I picked this dress up last year, and it's truly a fabulous piece - a lovely, delicate 1930s maxi dress with flutter sleeves and a gathered bodice. I decided to mix the styling up a bit, adding a western inspired double-buckle belt, some brown boots, and a pretty pink hair flower.
In other news, I think Brian and I have found our house! We're negotiating a couple of details right now, so I hope I don't jinx myself, but I'm just too excited not to share. It's a pretty little Chicago style brick bungalow, and what we love about the place is that it hasn't had a lot of renovation. It really feels like a place that we can make into our vintage dream home.
Anyway, I hope everyone who is celebrating had a lovely holiday weekend! And if you're not celebrating Labor Day, I hope you had a good weekend any.
