Summer, 1943

A friend of mine was recently selling off some of her clothes, and I immediately fell in love with this blouse. It's silk, probably late 30s or early 40s, and with a distinctly Chinese influence, and it might be more of the more unique items in my wardrobe.

I have to admit, though, that I'm not wearing it the right way. I should be wearing it untucked (it's got a cute little pocket that you can't see here because it's tucked in), and the straight cut really calls for a pair of knee length shorts for tight fitting black pants, but this styling just looked more photogenic to me.

I'm not the best hairdresser, but I'm pretty pleased with how this 'do came out. The curl comes out of my hair so quickly in the heat of summer, so I've been playing around a bit with different updos. Should be getting a haircut soon, though, so we'll where it goes!
