Misplaced Memories

I have wanted a knit set like this for a couple of years, but I’ve been a little bit hesitant about spending much money on one - it’s not a common item to see around here, and an inexpensive one that I picked up a few years ago isn’t the most flattering on me. That said, I kept seeing them on people like Nora from Nora Finds, so when this one came up on Fabgab’s Etsy (and for under $100!), I decided to take the plunge.

I believe that I once told someone that I didn’t like brown clothing and that I thought it usually looked blah, but I’ve really come around on it recently. Just a couple of months ago I photographed another brown dress , and it’s one of my favorite looks from the past summer. Fall has only just started, but already think this might be one of my best shoots of the season. It’s not just from a fashion perspective either - I’ve always found backlit shots difficult to accomplish on my own, but putting myself between my camera and the sun and then moving until my shadow partially blocked the lens, I got nice backlighting and a bit of lens flare. Honestly, I feel kind of silly for not figuring it out earlier!

On a side note, one of my favorite bands just released a new album, and the most recent single is, in a word, amazing. To give it a couple more words, it’s also triumphant and fierce, which is exactly how it will make you feel.
