Well, Hello
Hello again from Chicago!
I kind of can’t believe that it’s been over two months since I’ve posted here - it feels simultaneously like it’s been ages and like I just did this last week. As you might know if you follow me on Instagram or we’re friends on Facebook, Brian and I bought a house recently, and between getting the house in shape, moving to a new neighborhood, and uncooperative winter weather, I just haven’t had the time or the motivation to go out and take photos. I think that that’s behind me now, though, and I’d like to finish out the year strong!
I am going to try and do a post soon on the new house (a 1920s brick bungalow that is slowly becoming very nice, if I do say so myself), but there’s still quite a bit to do and I haven’t gotten around to taking any photos of it yet. If you’ve ever purchased a home, I’m sure you know just how much effort it takes to make it feel like a home, not just a place where you live. So far we’ve torn out carpet, pulled down wallpaper, ripped out walls, and done some painting and decorating, but I know it’s going to be some time before it’s just what we dreamed of. It’s really exciting, but also kind of draining - after all, if anything goes wrong, it’s up to us to fix it. Kind of scary when you’ve spend a significant portion of your life avoiding such heavy responsibilities, but it does feel good to have taken the step.
Anyway, I should be back in just a few days with some of the year end wrap up posts that I like to do - favorite photos, the always hilarious outtakes post, and some of my favorite books and TV shows from 2018.
