July

I has been mind-numbingly hot out for the past couple of days - temps in the 90s, and humidity just about the same. It's quite nice at night, but I don't do that well in that kind of heat and sun, so I've mostly been laying around inside, watching tv and eating ice cream. Scintillating, I know.

With all the heat, I've been gravitating to the lightest items in my wardrobe, and this dress certainly fits the bill. It's an H&M find from last year, and it's basically an orange tent. I did a little customization on it, cutting off the extraneous "cold shoulder" straps and adding a scarf for a belt.

Of course, the real standout here are these gold glitter cat eye sunglasses. I should really wear them more often, because they are truly fun and awesome, but I'm always worried about breaking or losing them or rubbing all the glitter off or something. I think I'm going to invest in more fun sunglasses - they just add so much to a look.

In other news, it's almost Independence Day here in the US! I've got some fun parties to go to, so hopefully I'll get to eat some great barbecue and maybe set off a few fireworks.
