If it wasn't already apparent, I'm an absolute sucker for a green dress. Green's been my favorite color since I was a kid (my library had a stash of very old books, including a nearly complete run of the original Oz books; for a while I was quietly convinced anything that I came across that was emerald green was hiding Ozma of Oz), and I'd say that it still is.
Despite taking a couple of days off of work and giving myself a delightful 4 day weekend, I still found myself in a rush to take photos. How does that happen? I had so much that I wanted to get done, but hanging out on the couch ended up feeling way more appealing.
I didn't realize until after I got home that the last time that I shot a green dress, I shot it in the same place! Oops. I'll have to try to be a little the less predictable next time, I guess.
But this dress is a stunner. I just purchased it recently, and I love the way the taffeta rustles (and doesn't wrinkle!), the combination of the green roses on the cream background, the subtle sparkle of sequins scattered among the flowers.
That said, it's home sewn, and the construction is a little weird. Like, the darting is the same in the front and in the back - I could wear it facing either way, and for obvious reasons my back doesn't fill it out quite the same way that my front does. It's not super noticeable, just a bit goofy.
So what did everyone get up to this weekend? Hopefully you got a bit more accomplished than I did!
